Overview
The 1701 document conversion error occurs when the file-to-fax conversion is timed out. This can occur with attachment conversion or a sent fax that has no attachments. This article gives instructions for correcting the issue causing the document conversion timeout.
Environment
Any FaxMaker Version 20 installation.
Solution
- Right-click the Start button and select Run.
 
- Type services.msc and select OK.  
 
- Stop the GFI FaxMaker Fax Server service. 
 
- Open C:\Program Files\FaxMaker\doccvt.iniwith notepad and ensure that the print engines are as follows:jpeg=print_img.exe 
 jpg=print_img.exe
 gif=print_img.exe
 png=print_img.exe
 htm=print_html2.exe
 html=print_html2.exe
 pdf=print_pdf.exe
 bmp=print_img.exeNote: Some of the older versions of FaxMaker will not have theprint_img.exeengine and will only useprint_html(x).exe. In this case, use theprint_html2.exewould be used rather thanprint_img.exe.

      Replace print_html.exewithprint_html2.exeand save the file.
 
- 
      Start the FaxMaker Fax Server service that was stopped in step 3 and test. 
Confirmation
Send a test through your normal sending method and confirm there is no conversion error.
