Overview
  When the GFI FaxMaker performance is degraded/slow, you may need to remove temporary files from the processing folders. This should restore optimal performance. To clear the GFI FaxMaker processing folders, please follow the steps below.
    Note: Orphan files are usually caused by Antivirus or Backup software trying to access/scan critical files and folders of GFI FaxMaker while they are in use. To prevent this from happening, add the GFI FaxMaker folders to your Antivirus exclusions.

  - Stop the GFI FaxMaker services from the Services Management Console (go to Start > Run > type services.msc).
- Navigate to the GFI FaxMaker installation directory. The default installation folder for GFI FaxMaker is:
      - On Windows 32-bit: \Program Files\GFI\FaxMaker
- On Windows 64-bit: \Program Files (x86)\GFI\FaxMaker
 
- On Windows 32-bit: 
- Remove all files that are older than two days from the following folders and included subfolders:
      - \GFI\FaxMaker\process(typically, files should not reside in this folder for more than 24 hours)
- \GFI\FaxMaker\out
- \GFI\FaxMaker\out\pending
- 
          \GFI\FaxMaker\in
 
 Note: Do not delete any folders when clearing the GFI FaxMaker processing folders. When deleting orphan files from the subfolders, you can remove the files that are older than 2-3 days.
